1. About this policy
This Cookie Policy explains how 4WALLS Agents Ltd (“4WALLS”) uses cookies and similar technologies on www.4walls.io and in our mobile application. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy. We use cookies in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) and the UK GDPR.
2. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We also use similar technologies such as pixels (which load a small image to log activity) and server-side event tracking (which sends information directly from our server to a third party). For simplicity we refer to all of these as “cookies” in this policy.
3. Your consent
When you first visit our site you will see a cookie banner. Non-essential cookies (analytics and advertising) are not set until you give your consent through that banner. Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent because the site cannot function without them.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by reopening the cookie banner from the link in the footer of our website. Withdrawal does not affect cookies set before you withdrew.
4. Cookies and tools we use
The table below lists the cookies and tracking technologies we use. Where a third party is named, that party may set its own cookies and process data under its own privacy notice.
Cookie / tool | Provider | Purpose | Category |
_ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics (via GTM) | Distinguishes users and sessions to measure site usage. | Analytics |
GTM container | Google Tag Manager | Loads and manages other tags (analytics, advertising). | Functional |
_fbp, fr | Meta Platforms (Pixel) | Identifies the browser to deliver and measure Meta advertising and build custom and look-alike audiences. | Advertising |
Meta Conversions API events | Meta Platforms (server-side) | Sends conversion events (e.g. enquiry form submissions) to Meta server-to-server, including hashed identifiers (e.g. hashed email, phone) so Meta can match the event to an account. | Advertising |
Session / auth cookies | 4WALLS | Keep you logged in and the site functioning correctly. | Strictly necessary |
Cookie consent record | Consent management platform | Records your cookie preferences so we can honour them. | Strictly necessary |
5. Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API
Where you have given consent, we share website-event data with Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd through the Meta Pixel (in your browser) and the Meta Conversions API (server-to-server). The Conversions API may include hashed identifiers such as a hashed email address or phone number so Meta can match the event to a Meta account. Hashing is applied before transmission.
For these events 4WALLS and Meta act as joint controllers under Article 26 UK GDPR. Meta acts as an independent controller for any further use it makes of the data. You can manage your Meta ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account settings.
6. Managing cookies
You can manage cookies in three ways:
Use the cookie banner on our website to accept, reject or change your preferences.
Change your browser settings to block or delete cookies. Note that blocking strictly-necessary cookies will stop the site working correctly.
Use third-party opt-outs, for example the Meta ad preferences page in your Facebook or Instagram account, or the Google Analytics browser opt-out.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it was last revised.
8. Contact
For any cookie or data protection query, contact contact@4walls.io.
